About Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda was born in an Indian Hindu family. He was born in Kolkata on 12 January 1863. Father’s name is Vishwanath Datta and mother’s name, Bhuvaneshwari Devi. He was a Chief disciple of 19th century Indian mystic Ramakrishna.

Vivekananda was influenced by his guru Ramakrishna. Swami Vivekananda conducts thousands of lectures and classes in United States. Vivekananda Birthday was celebrated as “National Youth Day”.
