Maha Samudram (means the ocean) is an action romantic drama movie. It is a Telegu language film released in 2021. The film is directed and written by Ajay Bhupathi. Ramabrahman Sunkara is the producer who is under AK Entertainment.
The movie was set to release on August 19, 2021. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the date was postponed. It was later released on October 14, 2021.
The film reflects the backdrop of Andhra Pradesh, mainly in Visakhapatnam.
The film did not receive a good review from either the audience or the critics.

Plot of Maha Samudram
The movie revolves around 2 friends. Vijay wants to become a policeman. However, Arjun has no ambitions in his life. Moreover, Arjun seems like a trouble-maker. He is honest and gullible, so people can manipulate him easily.
On the other hand, Vijay wanted to become a policeman and make money through corruption. However, due to specific reasons, Arjun starts doing some illegal business.
After some time, we do not see Vijay for the entire movie and appear again at the movie’s end.
Aditi Rao Hydari plays the role of Mahalakshmi. She loves to dance and has been dancing since she was a little kid. Now she is a classical dance instructor. We see that she is in a relationship with Vijay.
However, after some time, we see that she has started to hate dancing and wants to forget every memory related to dancing. Even seeing the anklets or if someone talks about dancing hurts her.
Anu Emmanuel, who plays Smitha, does not have any vital role throughout the film. She fits into the plot randomly and is present throughout.
Moreover, the romance between her and Arjun starts when they meet in a road accident. Smitha does not know anything about him except that Arjun is a cash dispensing machine.
Also, Arjun knows nothing about Smitha except that she is a lousy driver. However, this brief interaction was enough for Smitha to start falling for Arjun.
Production
In early 2019, director Ajay Bhupati confirmed the movie with Bellamkonda Sreenivas. But in 2020, the release of this bilingual movie starring Siddharth and Sharwanand was out in the news. The production team approached Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya for the leading roles. However, it did not work out with them.
In late 2020, Anu Emmanuel and Aditi Rao Hydari became a part of this film. The music composer for this film is Chaitan Bharadwaj. He previously composed music for movies like SR Kalyananmandapam in 2021 and RX 100 in 2018.
This movie was Siddharth’s comeback film after 8 years. He last did Jabardasth in 2013 and took a break from Telugu films.
At first, the markers wanted to shoot the movie in both Tamil and Telugu languages. But the idea to work on Tamil dropped.
Lastly, the principal photography for the movie started on December 7, 2020. They wrapped work up on July 9, 2021.
